Following is a general
description of the Social Work PAG operating committees.
Awards
Recognition of officer achievement in SWPAG or
Commissioned Corps activity exemplary of social work
practice.
Career Development
Actively seeks and disseminates information on career opportunities for professional
development, vacancies, and special assignments.
Membership / Mentoring / Recruitment / Retention
Maintain current list of social workers involved in SW PAG
activity by assignment, outreach to new officers, and
may be involved in the Associate Recruiter Program or
category liaison activities. This subcommittee also
keeps membership informed of policy changes issued by
OCCO, manual circulars, CCPM, and executive orders form
the ASH and the SG. Committee provides assistance to
officers that request support in entry, assignment
transitions, change in status, etc
Professional Policy Development Maintains reviews and revises
by-laws according to charter set forth by the Health Services Officers
Charter and By-laws. The update including any revisions will be reviewed
and approved by the Health Service Officers Professional Advisory Committee.
Public Relations/Website
Respond to issues that impact social workers and their role in the HSO
category and CC transformation through the HSO PAC and CPO. Committee
also updates and disseminates information to the SW PAG membership
Readiness
Provides support and maintains communications with the PAG membership about changes in
readiness standards, upcoming training requirements, and
status of implementing the CC transformation agenda.
