Health Services Officers (HSOs) are one of eleven professional categories of the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS). HSOs contribute vitally to the health of the Nation and are an invaluable resource to the Office of the Surgeon General, the PHS, other governmental agencies, and the American public.
The Army Office of the Chief, Medical Service Corps will host the annual Medical Service Corps Junior Officer Week from 27 APRIL TO 2 MAY, 2014 in San Antonio, TX. The purpose is to recognize outstanding junior Medical Service Corps Officers who have made significant contributions and have performed in an exceptionally outstanding manner. The Army has invited the Public Health Service to participate and recognize our top three Junior (O2-O3) Health Service Officers. Funding for officers’ travel to participate in the Junior Officer week in San Antonio, TX will not be provided this year, we hope that Agencies will support the selectees. Nominations will be accepted from the Junior Officer’s supervisor or peer.
